Highly honoured audience, the time has finally come: here's my personal account of all the underwear adventures I've had at the recent lingerie fairs and events in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany. Just to be clear, I didn't experience those adventures in underwear myself, because it was a little too fresh for that, but - well, you know what I mean...

As an unsurpassed blog emperor of the lingerie scene, I naturally have access to the smallest and most obscure corners of the world. So I've scribbled a few notepads full of notes at all three fairs that I treated to my presence. You see, there is no amateur at work here. I had arranged everything neatly and very systematically, so that I could make an unparalleled report at home. It was a pity that I hadn't counted on the grandiose afterparties where I inevitably ended up, where the Chablis flowed abundantly and one cava crowded the other for attention. Once I arrived home it turned out that all those festivities had done my inspiration a lot of good. Unfortunately the same cannot be said for the structure in my notes. Strange how after a few glasses of bubbly you think you're writing your best work ever, while when you read it back the next morning you don't even recognize it as your own handwriting...

Scribbles and chats

Anyway, there was nothing left to do but write a report with the pile of scribbles and chats that remained. Luckily, at the fairs there were some very strong themes burning on my retinas, so I wasn't completely out of control when I dedicated myself to this blog. Not a slavish report for you, but a visionary look into the future - and under your clothes! I can predict which lingerie you'll be wearing in the coming year, ladies and especially gentlemen. Pay attention, because here are the most important trends to wrap yourselves up for 2019!

A natural development

Nature, ecology, environment and responsible choices, that's what this coming year is all about. As a poodle I am naturally a little more in touch with my wild side than your human children are. It doesn't matter, you can't do much about it, but I say take advantage of it. You can draw on the wealth of inside information that your beastly trendy reporter is gathering around here, so here we go. Point 1: eco!

Ecolingerie

The trend is not only perceptible in lingerie country, but on the exhibition floor it was abundantly clear: eco has the future. For a long time now, natural materials no longer feel like you have a jute sack on your body, as was evident from the designs in the most fantastic soft fabrics. The origin of the raw materials is an increasingly important point for lingerie, so here I am noticeably being handled with awareness. The big brands have also embraced the trend, so this year the most sensual designs will be made from bamboo, organically grown cotton and smart fibers that have as little impact on the environment as possible. My tip? Do as I do and go as au naturel as you can: in your Adams or Evak costume! No, all kidding aside, people: ecological and natural lingerie has become an integral part of the design world - I'm over, so I hope you'll also let yourself be convinced of the natural charm of ecolingerie.

Natural looks

Then let's pay attention to another natural tendency that my subtle mind noticed on the trading floor. Actually, this development also has everything to do with nature, or in this case natural beauty. A lot of big fashion houses finally seem to understand that there's more than just skinny models, because everywhere I noticed the most fantastic lingerie for the slightly larger sizes. I'm a fan I can tell you. Curvy ladies have every reason to proudly show off their curves to the world - or yes, not all the time, of course, but anytime they want to. And yes, I know: bras in large cup sizes have always been there, but this year the designs won't just be magnified from the petite designs in the new collections. The lingerie that came to my eye was written on the body of every woman who dared to show off her natural curves and curves with pride. Wonderfully ordinary! A strong example of emancipation that we have waited far too long for on our own. As you know I sometimes have trouble keeping my own slender figure in super slim shape myself, so I throw the helm over: show them what you've got, ladies and gentlemen!

Also for men of course!

And while we're on the subject of emancipation, I feel I must share with you my third finding: men's lingerie! Yeah, you hear right. Not so surprising, is it? After all, gentlemen have as much beauty to show off as ladies. Tight buttocks, muscular shoulders and such a nice sturdy torso with just enough chest hair - feast on it, ladies and gentlemen! Men's underwear has fortunately come a long way since the days of a whole drawer full of the same pale white - excusez le moth - ball pegs. In fact, the range of possibilities is huge in 2019. How about a range of boxer shorts, loose or tight, in a wide variety of colours, designs and models? You bet you'll find your man in it. Short or long pipes fly around your ears, with brand names that make you warm enough to hop out the door in your boxer. Besides all that boxershort opulence you'd almost forget that there's so much more under the sun: mini-, midi- and maxislips for example, with enough different designs to get completely lost in. Would you like to show off your masculinity in a special way? Wear a tanga, or a thong, or even more striking: a jockstrap! So much beauty to wear this year, guys, what are we waiting for? This is going to be our year: where we used to look jealously at the huge choice our female counterparts had, we now turn the tables. Lingerie has finally become men's work.

Trust your natural beauty

Foei, what a huge flood of new impressions I've gained in those few days of sniffing around on the trading floor. Actually, it's too much to mention. As far as that's concerned, maybe it's a good thing that I've clouded my notes a bit on the dance floor. I'll try to work towards a conclusion, because then you'll immediately have a concise and powerful guideline for the new season. As a lingerie blogger extraordinaire, I am your shining beacon in a raging sea of fashion fads and image blunders, and I take that weighty task seriously. I can look you straight in the eye when I give you the following concise advice: be natural this year. Nature is a wonderful thing, and we all have to be careful about it. Natural materials and responsible materials are the way to go in 2019. That's a nice bridge to the next golden style tip: be proud of your own natural beauty! Mother Nature didn't just make you who you are today, so be proud of everything you have in your home. Slim or full, short or long, dark or pale: your nature is unique and gorgeous, so celebrate that natural beauty with the fairest, most delicious lingerie in which you can show off everything that makes you so incomparably beautiful!

The men's people are very much part of this year, and rightly so! Not on a diet, not to the gym and leave those fillers behind. In 2019 everyone is invited to show his or her best side, so be proud of what you've got and dress it up with the most beautiful, most responsible and most emancipated lingerie you can find!
