How we all live in a fantastic country, appreciated public... That's not even meant to be sarcastic, because I admit that sometimes I'm a bit grumbling about politics, the so-called popular nature and what we then call the State of the Country, but still. Sometimes there are those days when I think to myself, "Well, Bassie boy, that's what we got for each other in that little frog country of ours." Reason for my tidy mood? That we're free in this country to celebrate Coming Out Day on October 11th, or Kom Uit De Kast Dag, in good Dutch.

Freedom, happiness and a lot of love

Freedom, happiness, and a lot of love for all people and absolutely for all quadrupeds: I am in favour! LGBT+ and more, that should be possible in a civilized country, shouldn't it? A daughter coming home with a daughter-in-law? Sounds like reason for a party. An uncle who'd rather be an aunt, wouldn't you say? I'm already in the mood for the next birthday, I can finally get a nice set of lingerie. Do you have a hangover that doesn't turn out to be for the cat? Hup, out of the closet with it! I just want to say, whoever and whatever you are, we all have the right to celebrate love the way we want to. That freedom has been fought for long and hard, so I don't know about you, but I'm going to celebrate Kom Uit De Kast Dag in proper style!

The nature of the creature

For those who wonder: my own orientation, or rather my point of view towards love, is less exotic or spectacular than you might think. As a rule, I just fall for bitches - I can't help it either. If I'm honest, it seems much more fun to fall in love with everything that's loose and stuck. I don't rule out anything either: it could just be that tomorrow I suddenly hit a hotel hotel hotel with an extremely handsome stud, but so far that hasn't happened to me. Anyway, I don't really care who falls for what, as long as there's something to fall for. Are you still following it? Let me put it this way: I think we should all just be in love with love, in all forms imaginable. That's good for the mood, good for the health and good for the lingerie business too. How can you, as a thoughtful poodle, be against that?

Everything in the closet

Of course I wouldn't be a fashion icon if I didn't find a smart, fashionable and above all catchy way to give this day a unique twist. So I did some brainstorming to make a nice gesture. My influencer instinct came up with a great suggestion: let's really do everything we can on October 11th this year. Literally. Just pull open your entire wardrobe or walk-in closet and throw out everything that's inside. Why then, you wonder? Well, we'll all come out of that closet at least once a year, and so will our clothes, including lingerie. That's an excellent opportunity to check out your collection. Spread everything out as wide as possible so that your bedroom floor and your bed turn into one big cheerful rainbow flag. All your sets still complete? Check! Do you still miss colours? Great time to go shopping at Dutch Designers Outlet. This way you can complete your collection before we go into the winter. That's a lot of flying in one fell swoop, I think. If that coming out of us doesn't make the world a little better, at least your wardrobe overview will be.

Four Diversity

Speaking of lingerie and DDO... If Kom Uit De Kast Dag is a moment to celebrate diversity, you can have fun in the webshop. You've already taken stock of your winter underwear anyway, so if there's anything missing, or you're just missing a new trend, it's time to add to that rainbow of colours and styles. New lingerie is always nice to wear, right? I'd like to add a little more with a final thought. As part of Coming Out Day, let's all wear a new set, because putting it on is fun, but under the right circumstances it's even more fun to come out in all its glory - whether it's for a man, a woman, or a poodle...
